Welcome           Yankees/NYCFC        Civic Center & Courts       BID Specials

Opening Day is set for April 2 this year. Hopefully, this will be the year when the Yankees return to the World Series and the stadium hosts games into October. In a slight change to accommodate fans, weekday night games will begin at 6:35 this year instead of 7:05. This will allow guests to have plenty of time to hang out in our great sports bars both before and after the games.

On Saturday, June 16 and Saturday, September 15, the BID will sponsor an authentic, NYC street fair under the elevated subway on River Avenue at 161st Street. Everyone is invited!

NYCFC Schedule

Yankee Stadium is also the home of Major League Soccer’s  NYCFC, ‘City’. The team, featuring future Hall of Famer, Captain David Villa, opens its 2018 schedule at home on March 11

It is easy to get to the stadium district by mass transit or driving. The #4, the B & the D trains stop on 161stStreet & River, right in front of the ballpark. The Metro North stops at 153rd Street, at the site of the old stadium. And there is ample parking with over 9,000 spaces in private garages and with valet parking.

When you arrive in the neighborhood take a tour of the old stadium which has been converted into new ballfields surrounded by an outdoor museum filled with plaques, view masters and elements of Yankee history.

Are you interested in a throwback jersey of Babe Ruth or Derek Jeter? Would you like a pin commemorating 27 World Series? How about an Aaron Judge tee shirt or a Yankee cap? You will find anything Yankee in one of our world-class souvenir shops which run along River Avenue and up East 161st Street. The selection is almost infinite and the prices are a bargain compared to those at the ballpark.

The BID is home to four legendary sports bars featuring the widest selectin of beers, ales, mixed drinks and food. Stan’s has been voted the best sports bar in America and is always packed with baseball fans enjoying each other’s company. Billy’s offers a rooftop bar and an enormous dance floor as well as full dinners. Yankee Tavern is a NYC landmark filled with Yankee memorabilia and delicious food. The Dugout is conveniently located directly across the street from the stadium and The Jeter Meter, offering an easy opportunity to grab a drink and make it into the stadium in short order.
