Welcome           Yankees/NYCFC        Civic Center & Courts       BID Specials

Welcome to the 161 BID

The 161 Street Business Improvement District is committed to improving the community for those who live, work, visit and shop on 161 Street in the Bronx. Our goal is to keep the streets clean, promote commerce and enrich the area through special events and cultural projects.

161 Street is an exciting area for tourists, residents and employees alike. It is a neighborhood best known for Yankee Stadium, but it’s also filled with great restaurants, recreation sites, municipal resources and unique shops and services.

I encourage you to take advantage of Joyce Kilmer Park, Lou Gehrig Plaza and to visit the Bronx Museum nearby Mill Pond Park and Heritage Field which opened on the site of the old stadium -- for baseball, softball, tennis, track and personal fitness.

161 Street is easily accessible by subway (4, D, B trains), Metro North (Yankee Stadium station) and car (Major Deegan and Cross Bronx Expressway).

We’re just down the road from the new Gateway Mall and across the river from Manhattan. When you are in the neighborhood, drop by and say hello. Our office is on the corner of 161 Street and the Grand Concourse.

And, please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to increase your enjoyment of this area.
